At the exhibition in Palazzo Bembo, located on the Canal Grande, a few steps away from the Rialto Bridge, C.F. Møller Architects will present two projects - the University of Aarhus and the coming new Danish State Prison in Falster. Both projects relate directly to the overall themes of "fundamental elements of architecture" and "space, time & existence". Especially the University of Aarhus is a prime example of a campus which is unique in many ways. In terms of fundamental elements of architecture, it represents an example which transcends the national and the functional in the way the original master plan and design principles have been maintained and have proven a simple yet versatile tool to create a timeless and coherent architectural expression adaptable to changing programs. In 2006 the University of Aarhus was selected by the Danish Ministry of Culture for the canon of Danish art and culture, a canon comprising e.g. the twelve most indispensable Danish architectural works. The innovative design of the new closed state prison for approximately 250 inmates creates an urban environment, interacting with the landscape on both sides of the six-metre tall perimeter wall, with both natural and cultivated areas and integration of sports facilities in the landscape within the perimeter. Ever since the foundation of The Venice Biennale in 1895, it has been in the avant-garde, promoting new artistic trends and organizing international events in contemporary arts, e.g. the International Architecture Exhibition.
