C.F. Møller’s Aalborg branch in new surroundings

From 1 July, the office in Aalborg has moved into new premises at the former C. W. Obel tobacco factory, also known as the former music venue "Skråen".

The C.W. Obel factory complex, which CF Møller has been responsible for the refurbishment of, now houses a wide mix of users, and is located right the centre of the city in one of Aalborg's major re-development areas also including the former alcohol factory now to be become a cultural centre, the western Fjordpark, the historical shipyard and the coming new light rail. Raw & industrial The premises were originally used for manufacturing chewing tobacco, and later housed both the legendary venue Skråen which has been the setting for many concerts and events, and the alternative cinema Biffen. The industrial and raw look of the interior has been maintained; and a new floor of matt lacquered plywood with painted fields underlines and orders various functions in the open-plan spaces. One of the region's largest C.F. Møller’s Aalborg branch was established in 1990, when C.F. Møller merged with local practice Jacob Blegvad Arkitektkontor, and is today one of the region's largest architectural firms with approximately 25 staff. Among current projects in Aalborg are the latest stage of Aalborg's new waterfront and the redevelopment of the former DLG silo at the Eastern Harbour to 9000 m² of housing, as well as about 13,000 m² of housing at the Brolandingen site in Nr. Sundby on the north side of the fjord. Also among the branch’s large-scale projects are the Vendsyssel Hospital and several major housing estate renovation projects for the Himmerland Housing Association. The branch’s new address is: C.F.
