CeresByen, Ceres Corner

In 2008, C.F. Møller was behind the master plan for CeresByen, which is transforming the old brewery site in central Aarhus into a vibrant new quarter that is home to around 1,000 people – and the place of study for around 5,000 students at VIA University College. The residential project constitutes one corner of the new quarter.

The project consists of 131 flats ranging from 55 to 100 m² in floorspace. They are designed as brick structures with sections of timber cladding, thereby building a bridge to the Ceres site's yellow-brick buildings from 1856. A good inflow of light and access to the courtyard's green oasis characterise the homes. With its structure as small, shareable flats with two-three rooms, the complex focuses especially on the city's young people and students, and on young families. All of the flats have access to balconies, combined with private recreational areas.
