The renovation is an extensive energy renovation that creates an increased housing quality through a larger daylight intake, increased living areas, and balconies for all apartments in Department 3, one of the oldest departments in Himmerland Housing Association. The development originally consisted of 210, two- and three-room apartments. The redevelopment creates a more differentiated and attractive offer, where the total, now 195 - renovated apartments include apartments on two floors and large four- and five-room apartments.

The previously very small bathrooms, the poor sound insulation between the apartments, and many people's desire for an apartment with a balcony have made it difficult for the housing association to retain new residents for a longer period of time. This is solved with the renovation, where 70 of the apartments will also be rebuilt to meet current requirements for accessibility, with both a lift to all floors, new spacious bathrooms, and handicap-friendly apartment and room furnishings. To compensate for the loss of space when establishing elevators, all apartments have a balcony or a raised terrace to compensate for the loss of space when establishing lifts. New kitchens are being constructed, new bathrooms are being fitted out to replace the previous tray-in bathrooms, and new housing square meters are being built. Coherence is created between the courtyards by breaking through the blocks in three places, thereby giving the place additional recreational qualities.
