Aarhus School of Business

Aarhus School of Business was designed by C.F. Møller, who were also responsible for the design of the nearby buildings in the area along Fuglesangs Allé: the 4th May College, the Dental College, the Academy of Music and Møllevang Church. All of the buildings in the neighbourhood share a coherent architecture and the homogeneous use of brick and tile on their facades and roofs – like Aarhus University, which lies within walking distance.

The School of Business was inaugurated in 1968 and has been continuously expanded and renovated since then.

The buildings consist of low, staggered blocks one to two storeys in height, linked by glass corridors, and enclosing various courtyards and relaxation areas. A carefully planned traffic system ensures that the pedestrian streets and passageways direct the flow of teachers and students out of the teaching rooms, while the plazas and squares gather them together around common features such as large lecture halls, cafes and reception areas. The consistent use of flamed bricks in the facades and red tile in the roofs gives the school a coherent overall expression while the same time linking it to the other C.F. Møller-designed institutional buildings on the avenue.
