The Maersk Tower is a state-of-the-art research building whose innovative architecture creates the optimum framework for world-class health research, making it a landmark in Copenhagen. It aims to contribute positively by linking the University of Copenhagen with the surrounding neighbourhoods and wider city.

The Tower is an extension of Panum, the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, and contains both research and teaching facilities, as well as a conference centre with auditoriums and meeting rooms, connected to the latest technology.

- Winning this award highlights our capability to integrate state of the art research and learning facilities within the community which support ground-breaking science and attracts world-class researchers, says Mads Mandrup Hansen, partner and architect at C.F. Møller Architects.

Award number six
The award as ‘Best Healthcare Development’ is the 6th award the project receives since the inauguration in 2017. The Maersk Tower has been awarded best ‘Higher Education and Research’ building at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2017, a Scandinavian Green Roof Award 2017 and ‘Copper in Architecture Award 2017’ for the towers innovative and sculptural façade, to mention a few.

C.F. Møller Architects won the project in an international architectural competition in 2010.
