The new development, Agerbækshaver in Aarhus, includes a day care centre, townhouses, and apartments. The area is closely linked to the nearby Risskov secondary school, which is why the design process has also focused on ensuring a close connection between the secondary school and the new development. Paths, seating, and activity areas have been established to provide an optimal setting for a new community in the area. The day care centre and single-family houses are located along Agerbæksvej and Vestre Strandallé, and the terraced houses are located in the area towards the secondary school. Several green courtyards and common spaces, raised from the ground with parking and depots underneath, provide seating areas for the area's users. In addition, balconies and terraces at ground level provide private living spaces for residents.

Social sustainable

Along Agerbæksvej, the single-family houses are placed in the curved shaped of the road staggered along the road. The facades of the flats and terraced houses are built in light, warm brick with patterned brickwork and wood. Along Vestre Strandallé, the single-storey buildings have asymmetrical gabled roofs with large balconies. The buildings are built in red and brownish bricks, which are laid out staggered to create a varied facade with small, green pockets. The apartments along Vestre Strandallé consist of smal units intended for youth and student housing. The remaining housing in the area is large and provides space for families of varying sizes. This helps to create a socially sustainable area with a variety of housing types and residents.
