C.F. Møller Architects, Carlstedt Arkitekter, Krook & Tjäder, and Ramboll Sweden have completed the task of providing the basis and investigations for the detailed plan for the new hospital area in Helsingborg.

- We are very pleased to have contributed to the adoption of the detailed plan for the new hospital area in Helsingborg after two years of intensive work, says Mårten Leringe, partner and architect at C.F. Møller Architects. A good climate of cooperation combined with a high focus on process and quality have been some of the success factors in achieving something as unique as this.

Sweden's Largest Ongoing Hospital Project
The detailed plan includes a concept for a new hospital with an operational need estimated at around 200,000 square meters. If implemented, this would be the largest ongoing hospital project in Sweden.

- The good cooperation between Region Skåne, the consulting group, and the city of Helsingborg has resulted in a robust and future-proof proposal that is well integrated into the city and the district's blue-green structure. A proposal that we are very proud of, says Karolina Halldin, project manager from Krook & Tjäder.

The detailed plan proposal has now been adopted. According to the city of Helsingborg, this enables "a new emergency hospital that meets all the requirements for a modern hospital today, and that enables the hospital to grow and develop if such a need arises in the future."

It is a modern, sustainable, and future-proof hospital area, with the goal of good healthcare and working environment, flexibility with the opportunity to grow over time, and an emergency hospital well equipped to meet future demands. The new hospital area will include emergency hospitals with psychiatry, high-tech care, ward departments, receptions, laboratory medicine, service functions and technology, as well as administration. Necessary infrastructure, above and below ground, as well as parks and nature are also included.

- Ramboll has contributed expertise in a large number of technical areas at this stage, ranging from construction and installation to traffic, geotechnics, and stormwater management. Together in the general consulting group and in close collaboration with Region Skåne and the city of Helsingborg, we have established the guidelines for creating a robust, efficient, and sustainable hospital with a strong focus on, among other things, media supply, flexibility, and heavy rainfall," says Tomas Igergård, project manager at Ramboll.

Region Skåne plans to move into the new hospital within 15 years.
