Gigtforeningen is a nationwide health organisation working to improve the quality of life for people living with conditions affecting joints, back and muscles. As part of a strategic relocation, the organisation moved its headquarters to Gladsaxe Company House. The brief was to design a new office environment that meets functional working needs while reflecting Gigtforeningen’s values of community, well-being and accessibility.

The overall architectural solution is based on a design divided into zones, integrating different working styles and atmospheres into a cohesive whole. A consistent design approach has been the use of colour, materials and lighting to define the mood and function of each space – from intense, creative environments to calm and focused zones.

Diverse settings

The layout features several function-specific areas, including lounge zones, quiet areas, collaboration spaces, and traditional meeting rooms. For example, the project room features whiteboard walls and orange tables that support creativity and co-creation, while meeting rooms with cooler tones and leather chairs create a more relaxed yet professional atmosphere. All furnishings were carefully selected or repurposed from the previous office and integrated into a holistic design concept.

The design process involved a staff workshop, a thorough review of existing furniture, the development of a design guide, and budget planning. The result is a workplace that unites aesthetics and functionality, encouraging both concentration and community in inspiring surroundings.
