The extension comprises a new movement hall, rhythm hall, and a new wing with club and service functions adjoining an existing motor skills and gymnastics hall. The aim is to strengthen the centre’s role as a gathering point for physical activity, club life, and new training forms – for both existing users and new target groups.
Architecturally, the design is centred around a new arrival plaza and an internal activity corridor that create visual and functional cohesion between the existing halls and new facilities. The entrance opens towards the surroundings, inviting both core users and passers-by inside. Clear sightlines, double-height spaces, and strategically placed glass panels enhance transparency and support openness and community.
Integration between indoor and outdoor spaces
The new building houses facilities for functional training, rhythm and obstacle courses – inspired by “Ninja Warrior” – as well as club and social spaces with changing rooms, kitchen, and meeting facilities. In addition to the rhythm hall, the new first floor includes offices and shared spaces with views of the surrounding sports activities. The outdoor areas are integrated with the architectural concept through activity zones, seating, and training areas along the façades and entrance zone.
