The new veterinary, food and tax inspection centre, located in conjunction with the container terminal at the Port of Aarhus, brings together two important checkpoints in the container traffic, thus saving handling and inspection time.

The layout ensures separated traffic flows for goods and personnel, and tax and veterinary authorities are provided with individual office and inspection areas, conforming to security requirements. In the centre of the building a joint entrance and reception area is located, with truck driver's lounge, and on the first floor a shared canteen space enjoys a generous roof-terrace. The terrace frames the remarkable view of the bay of Aarhus, and shelters the main entrance located below. The buildings rugged industrial appearance, dominated by concrete and steel, is a match to the rough climate of the port areas, and establishes a clear relationship to the terminal's other service buildings.
