Amerika Plads - squares and parking garage

The project has converted the former industrial harbour areas to a new part of the city - based on a master plan by architect Adriaan Geuze. Various architects have designed the individual projects - including C.F. Møller Architects, who have also carried out the landscape design.

The area is paved using stone with a robustness referring to the manifold traffic of the former harbour. An elevated plateau with the reconstruction of the former station is located at the central square providing facilities for outdoor activities and giving access to the parking facilities below surface level. The parking facilities, with room for more than 1200 cars, are built under the entire area - in order to provide sufficient parking opportunities in the area and to dedicate the areas above ground for recreational activities.
