Located in one of the prime spots along the Limfjord in Aalborg, the Aksholm residential tower and the Kulturrækken housing block offer a unified architectural presence with a classic brick expression. The project includes a 12-storey residential tower and a five-storey housing block, forming a cohesive whole that bridges the new and old quarters. With an emphasis on quality in material choices and detailing, the design merges aesthetics and functionality.

The residential tower is light and transparent, with a ground-floor glass-enclosed commercial area that adds vibrancy to the urban environment. The facades blend brick and anodised aluminium in warm brownish tones, lending depth and elegance. They are chosen for their durability and aesthetic qualities to ensure a long lifespan and a robust visual identity. Recessed balconies enhance the vertical expression and provide outdoor spaces overlooking the Limfjord.

Focus on Quality

Kulturrækken, named for its location by Kulturtorvet, Musikkens Hus, and Nordkraft cultural centre, features art by renowned street artist Burn On, known for his murals in Aalborg, who has decorated two entrances with portraits of 12 selected artists, engaging both building visitors and passersby.

Kulturrækken offers studio apartments with high ceilings and mezzanines on the ground floor. The upper floors feature open, bright layouts that allow for personal customization. Both buildings optimise daylight with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The residential tower has roof terraces, offering residents exclusive elevated spaces. High-quality materials are reflected throughout the interior with durable brick floors and wooden furnishings, creating a warm, secure environment that reflects quality.

Shared amenities include a foyer and access to a green communal garden. The parking basement, with storage and bike facilities, is designed with warm colours, wood, and skylights to create a bright, safe atmosphere. Aksholm and Kulturrækken represent residential architecture where quality, community, and aesthetics go hand in hand, creating a vibrant neighbourhood.
