In one of the best locations along the fjord in Aalborg, the KANT office building is a striking corner building and neighbour to several of the city's iconic buildings, including the House of Music.
The office building adapts to its surroundings in scale, but at the same time it appears special and characterful with facades in a combination of black aluminum panels and large glass windows.
At street level, the building has a high and transparent façade that creates openness by revealing the life inside the building and inviting passers-by into the continuous and public arrival area that links the western side of the city with the eastern habour area area. Areas throughout the arrival area are double height with space for a stage and facilities for events.
At the top of the office building, a cantilevered element to the north and south creates a special focal point in the building's silhouette. Common facilities such as a canteen, restaurant, sky lounge, and meeting rooms are located here, providing the users of the building with a viewing and seating platform with spectacular views of the fjord.
Flexible, Raw, and Refined
The building's interior design is based on its location: a former industrial site in the city. The look is raw and industrial, yet refined, with slate floors in the foyer and a spectacular five-storey wall painting by the Italian artist Agostino Lacurci.
With the character of an elegant piece of furniture, a steel staircase is placed in the foyer, with a special finish and lighting. From here there is access to the respective tenancies, which can be arranged flexibly according to the needs of each tenant.
The tenants of the office building are Jyske Bank, E&Y, and Media House Nordjyske.
