The project originated as an analytical commission for Danica Ejendomme, focusing on assessing the premises’ flexibility and potential for subdivision into multiple units. The initial phase included interior design proposals and refurbishment scenarios, supported by building physics analyses with a particular emphasis on daylight conditions.

In the next phase of the project, the refurbishment proposal was tailored to Andelskassen as the specific tenant. Through close dialogue with the client and consulting engineers, the building’s requirements, functions and use were analysed and coordinated – including acoustics, fire safety, structural conditions and thermal indoor climate.

The architectural solution is based on a contemporary upgrade of surfaces, colours and materials, with a clear ambition to refine and renew while respecting the building’s original character. A key part of the strategy has been to reuse as many existing building components as possible, benefiting both economic and environmental sustainability.

The upgrade includes new fronts for all kitchenettes, as well as a coordinated colour scheme and furniture design, creating several informal meeting spaces. A new glass wall and curtains have screened the canteen. A new opening between the canteen and kitchen enables a modern dining experience with visual contact to the kitchen and the option of personal service by the chef. On the top floor, an exclusive meeting and conference area has been established, and access to one of the toilet cores has been optimised, allowing users to reach the facilities directly from the atrium circulation area without passing through office spaces.

Details such as new handrails, doors and walnut panelling for meeting pods, combined with Andelskassen’s signature green colour, contribute to a cohesive, welcoming and exclusive atmosphere. This is complemented by a custom-designed reception desk in the foyer, tailored to the building's overall material palette.

C.F. Møller Architects were responsible for the entire design process, from analysis and concept development to detailing and implementation. Throughout the project, the overarching ambition has been to ensure architectural quality and flexibility for future users – with respect for the place, the people and the resources already in use.
