Now the municipality's administrations will be gathered under the same roof again. The new municipal hall in Enköping, Sweden is being built on the property where the old municipal hall used to stand, close to Enköping's most popular park. The building will be four storeys high and have a gross floor area of around 5 300 square metres. The office building will be a workplace for around 450 employees. The new municipal hall will provide Enköping municipality with a modern and efficient meeting place for its employees and citizens.
Focus on sustainability
The municipal hall will meet high sustainability requirements and will be certified according to BREEAM, level Excellent. The building will also fulfil energy class A according to the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's requirements. The climate impact will be very low, partly because wood is the primary building material, supplemented by climate-improved concrete. In addition, efficient energy solutions are used to achieve a low energy requirement during operation. Value words such as "Enköping's best workplace", "A meeting place that creates commitment" and "A thoughtful building" have characterised the process and the design of the building, where great focus has been placed on sustainability in all forms.
