Climate-Friendly Focus
The administration building will be certified to DGNB Gold as part of the project's comprehensive sustainability strategy. The construction must meet the Danish BR18 climate requirements and integrate both biogenic materials and recycled materials into the building. The project simultaneously aligns with the UN's Global Goals, including climate action, responsible resource consumption, and healthy working environments, and actively informs the design and material choices.
Nordhavn as Global Logistics Hub
The developer By & Havn views the project as a natural evolution of Nordhavn's role as an international supply port. Managing Director Anne Skovbro states: "Nordhavn and UNICEF belong together. And we are incredibly pleased that UNICEF has chosen to expand their global warehouse in Nordhavn, which in this way helps to maintain Copenhagen's special history as an important supply port. Building such a large global warehouse is not an easy task - it is incredibly technical and requires specialist knowledge in relation to the main contract, but also in relation to the fully automated processes that must make the warehouse function smoothly and quickly. And we are confident that MT Højgaard, C.F. Møller Architects and Artelia are exactly right for the task."
The new UNICEF Campus 4 will be located in Copenhagen's Outer Nordhavn as part of the development of a new business area, which also includes a new container port.
