Designed by C.F. Møller Architects in collaboration with ARCO Architecture Company, the clinic represents a new standard in healing architecture — where design actively supports recovery, wellbeing and the working environment for healthcare professionals.
Located on the edge of Tampere University Hospital and surrounded by nature, the 30,000 m² facility offers 180 beds across various psychiatric units. The building’s flexible design creates diverse indoor and outdoor spaces that encourage privacy, community and connection to nature — essential qualities in psychiatric care.
The Tampere Psychiatric Clinic demonstrates how evidence-based design and Nordic values can come together to create environments that support healing and wellbeing for patients, staff and society alike.
The project builds on C.F. Møller’s century-long commitment to creating architecture that improves life for people and planet. It exemplifies C.F. Møller’s leadership in developing future healthcare environments that are human-centred and grounded in local identity.
