Grand opening of i8 in Munich

On Friday, the 11th of July, we celebrated the opening of i8, an innovative hybrid timber multi-tenant office building in Munich's dynamic Werksviertel district. Developed for R&S Management, i8 stands as a testament to modern climate-friendly architecture within the revitalised post-industrial area.

The building's striking exterior features a cohesive green façade of recycled aluminium, giving it an industrial yet playful expression. Diagonal bracing and unique relief patterns envelop the structure, hinting at its innovative hybrid construction.

Inside, the office workspaces are designed with tall ceilings and varied depths to maximise natural light. A spacious atrium, crafted with warm wooden materials and polished concrete floors, fosters connectivity, knowledge sharing, and visual interaction among different floors and units. The design allows the building's timber construction to not only be a structural element but also a visible backdrop to the vibrant co-working life within.

“Inspired by Bavarian half-timbered architecture with a Nordic twist, our multitenant wooden hybrid office building blends innovation and tradition. This space nurtures community and embodies sustainability through a carbon-reducing wooden hybrid structure, with creativity at its core”, describes Mads Mandrup, Partner at C.F. Møller Architects.

We are excited to finally see this vision come to life and actively fostering a dynamic, climate-friendly workspace for its tenants.
