C.F. Møller Architects strengthens strategic advisory in the early phases

C.F. Møller Architects is strengthening its strategic advisory services with the launch of Strategic Design Consultancy, an integrated area of expertise focused on the early phases of projects, before architecture takes form.

Strategic Design Consultancy helps clarify needs and ambitions and translates them into a clear project foundation that creates alignment between organisation, use and physical environments. Drawing on analyses, user insights and architectural expertise, C.F. Møller establishes a strategic foundation that supports qualified decision-making and a robust process for further project development.

C.F. Møller’s existing expertise within Democratic Design will become part of Strategic Design Consultancy. This brings together work related to wellbeing and social value with advisory on organisational, functional and economic conditions and priorities early in the process, helping to ensure that ambitions regarding impact are maintained throughout the project.

“The need for advisory in the initial phases is increasing. Clients and organisations are facing complex decisions where sustainability, function, social conditions, architecture, organisation and economics must be clarified, integrated and prioritised in order to establish a solid strategic basis for decision-making,” says Camilla Jensen Thorup, Head of Strategic Design Consultancy at C.F. Møller Architects.

The new expertise is structured around four core service areas:

• Needs Analysis & Project Foundations
Identifies the project’s conditions and needs through close dialogue with clients and users and translates them into a clear project foundation with defined objectives and priorities.
• Programming & Spatial Frameworks
Translates strategic decisions into concrete programmes and spatial principles that ensure alignment between function, organisation and architecture.
• Evaluation & Insights
Documents impact and experience from existing projects and translates them into knowledge that informs future decisions and development.
• Process Management & User Engagement
Ensures progress, anchoring and shared understanding through structured processes and targeted involvement of users and stakeholders.

“With Strategic Design Consultancy, we strengthen the connection between people, organisations and architecture. This creates a stronger foundation for developing solutions that work in practice and support everyday life within the environments they become part of,” says Camilla Jensen Thorup.

Strategic Design Consultancy works across project types and scales and supports both building projects, strategic plans and organisational transformations such as relocations. From campus and urban plans to the development, renovation and transformation of buildings, spaces, learning environments and workplaces, the department creates a coherent strategic foundation for further development.
