June 19 the construction of a new port for Stockholm started. It is an 85,000 m² extension of the present port with sustainable solutions, five berths and a modern ferry terminal. Much of the existing port area becomes residential areas for the expanding city of Stockholm.
The new terminal for Stockholm's permanent ferry connections to Finland and the Baltics is designed by Berg | C.F. Møller. It will be a landmark for the new urban development Norra Djursgårdsstaden - both architecturally and environmentally.
