Maersk Tower wins Iconic Award 2018
ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture, established by the German Design Council, is the first independent international architecture and design competition to take into account the interplay between the various disciplines. Awards are given to visionary buildings, innovative products and sustainable communication in all sectors of architecture, the construction and real estate business and the manufacturing industries. The focus is on holistic production and interaction between the trades in the context of architecture.
The Maersk Tower
The Maersk Tower is a state-of-the-art research building whose innovative architecture creates the optimum framework for world-class health research, making it a landmark in Copenhagen. It aims to contribute positively by linking the University of Copenhagen with the surrounding neighbourhoods and wider city.
Maersk Tower is designed by C.F. Møller Architects. The campus park is designed by SLA. The Danish Building and Property Agency is the client and owner of the building, on behalf of the Danish State. Maersk Tower was made possible by a generous donation from A.P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formaal (the A.P. Møller Foundation) and a special appropriation from the Folketing (Parliament).
The award will be handed over at a ceremony in München October 8.
