A whole new identity for Glostrup Shopping Centre, built in the 1970s: the goal has been to renovate and extend the centre. The facade now forms a sculptural landmark for the centre, with new iconic entrance areas in organic forms and a facade cladding made up of lateral strips of bright polycarbonate panels, of varying transparency. The transparency of the facade is balanced to match the underlying functions, e.g. a café. In the evenings the facade is back-lit by LED lamps, by which the shopping centre makes a distinctive impression in the darkness. Internally, work has been done during the renovations to create a bright, welcoming impression, for example by raising the roof to double-storey height above the central thoroughfare, and by establishing new extensive skylights.
