Kongebro centre

The residential home of Kongebrocentret contains 28 flexibly-organised dwellings with attractive common areas which allow residents to live their own private lives, while at the same time belonging to a community in which experiences and activities can be shared with others. In order to harmonise the new property with the 200-year-old buildings in the historic centre of Christiansfeld, the original building style of the area has been retained. Each wing of the residential home is walled with bright, sand-coloured bricks, with broad-planked larchwood panels on the gable ends, just as in the old Christiansfeld houses.

To make optimum use of the beautiful surroundings, the development is divided into four 'arms' which stretch down towards the stream of Taps Å. This opens up the complex, and by giving the common rooms a central location in relation to the groups of residences, the greatest possible number of residents are provided with a view of the landscape via the large windows in the southern facades of the intermediate buildings.
