The scheme includes 65,000 sq m buildings, taking architectural inspiration from the rough industrial harbour of the past. The old port will be converted into a new recreational area with a canal, promenade and sea pool. Traces and monuments from the ferry port will be preserved to add character to the new town, and the existing leaf, hoist, piers and wharfs will be an integrated and symbolic part of the new Halsskov Maritime Village.
